How to enable Sellforte to receive Google Query Volume (GQV) data from Google

Step by step guide for sharing your Google Query Volume data with Sellforte through Google's MMM Data Platform, including the approval that Google asks from the owner of your Google Ads data.

Google Query Volume (GQV) is Google's indexed daily query volume for your branded queries and for generic queries in your product categories, per region. Sellforte uses it to separate changes in underlying search demand from the effects of your marketing. Read more in Google Query Volume (GQV) in Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM).

Google delivers GQV through its MMM Data Platform directly to Sellforte, so you do not need to download or upload any files. Google shares the data only with the approval of the data owner: the company on your Google Ads payments profile, usually you, or your media agency if it pays Google on your behalf. These steps cover Google Ads accounts. If you buy Google media through Display & Video 360, your Customer Success Manager guides you through the applicable approval. To share the data with Sellforte, follow these steps:

1. Tell your Sellforte contact person who handles Google's request

Name one contact person for Google: you or a colleague. We use the brand and Google Ads account information we already have and confirm any missing details with you. If you want sub-brands as separate series, mention them.

2. Sellforte requests the data from Google

We register you in Google's MMM Data Platform as an advertiser Sellforte models for and request GQV for the countries in your model. You do not need to do anything in this step.

3. Reply to Google's email with the company details

Google emails your contact person from mmm-data-center@google.com and asks for the legal name and address of the data owner, and the name, email and job title of the person who signs.

4. Sign Google's data sharing agreement

Google sends the agreement to the signatory through DocuSign. It is Google's standard agreement and Google does not accept edits, so involving your legal team early saves time. The agreement refers to Google Ads data because Google provides GQV as an add-on to a Google Ads data request. Google has confirmed that the agreement also authorizes GQV, and Sellforte uses only the GQV report.

You are ready! 🎉

Google will inform once contract is done and data is delivered to Sellforte. Google also starts to refresh the data regularly.

After we have validated the data, your Customer Success Manager confirms how GQV will be used in your model and when, and explains any material changes before they go live.

Frequently asked questions

We already connected Google Ads to Sellforte. Do we need to do anything else?
Your existing Google Ads connection does not include GQV, and it is not affected. GQV is requested through Google's MMM Data Platform, which is separate route from Google Ads connection.

Our media agency pays Google. Who approves?
The data owner is the company on the Google Ads payments profile, so in that case your agency approves. Your Customer Success Manager can help coordinate.

Will Google know that we work with Sellforte?
Yes. To request the data, we register you in Google's MMM Data Platform as an advertiser Sellforte models for.

Does it cost anything?
There is no additional Sellforte fee for connecting GQV or including it in your Sellforte model. Any separate pilot or additional analysis is agreed with you separately.

Can we stop sharing later?
Yes. Tell your Customer Success Manager and we stop the recurring request with Google as well as wipe out existing data from our datalake.
